If you're seeing variation among >|chips it's because you're not running the same driver [1]. The same driver is installed but I wonder if the nvidia driver interferes with the intel driver. (When the intel driver stopped supporting Virtual and before xrandr 1.3, I had to buy a video card and install the nvidia driver on the desktop systems.) Bob T.
