This means that your search query _expression_ is too complex, most likely because it grew exponentially when Cyrus internally converted the query _expression_ to disjunctive normal form.

You might want to experiment tweaking the "search_normalisation_max" config option in imapd.conf to a value that's acceptable for your use case and hardware resources.
