I'm currently running Cyrus 2.4.22 and want to get more current. What
is the most modern version that is the path of least resistance to get
in to the 3.x train?
I guess this is interesting:
https://www.cyrusimap.org/3.8/imap/download/upgrade.html
For the case you are using Debian:
Upgrade first to Debian 11 and read this bug:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1037346
They say you should upgrade to the backports version of Debian 11 first,
because that contains the right patches.
But version 3.2.6-2+deb11u2 in Debian-backports is replaced by a 3.6
version. I found version 3.2.6-2+deb11u2 here:
http://snapshot.debian.org/package/cyrus-imapd/3.2.6-2%2Bdeb11u2/
Scroll a bit down for the binaries.
In my opinion upgrading Cyrus is a horror...
With regards,
Paul
