Is anyone aware of any clients that still use the non-standard SCAN
command? I believe that Pine/Alpine might have been the only clients
that used it.
I also believe that similar functionality can be gained from the
MULTISEARCH extension (RFC 7377).
If it turns out that no clients depend on SCAN, then we will remove that
specialized code from the codebase.
