I just recompiled with -O0 and that works.
With squat.
As "devstellar" noted on github, I cannot remember when was the last
time to run into those optimization errors - must have been years!
Maybe a note in the Cyrus IMAP docs?
(note to myself: Better browse the existing bugs/issues before writing
on the list...).

I tried to switch to Xapian but support for Xapian failed to compile under Debian, so I don't have an working search engine at the moment.
