with commands for list quota etc to show the sizes of the mailboxes, lm / lam 
to list mailboxes etc.. The output (text / console) could be easily processed 
further for your needs.

With perl you may script it further over libraries:

For traffic analysis i would use the MDA before the LDA, which typically 
provides some kind of stats any any easy way.

For "average message size" my only idea would be to use filesystem tools to 
look onto the mailbox folders (stored mails end with a ".") with regarding 
tools for filesystem storage analysis.

There is some SNMP support available for cyrus, but i never used it so far.
