Can someone help me on this please?
How do I read the email/view the email?
Thanks.
Well, after configuring postfix, you tried to send mail but did you also
create the destination mailbox in Cyrus-imapd? Cyrus can be configured to
create mailboxes automatically on post but that's not so by default, you
have to create user mailboxes with the 'cm' command from cyrus admin
command.
But first, you should look at your mail logs to see what postfix has done
with the message.
Just to add what Simon has said, the cyrus admin command is called
'cyradm', at least on my system.
Regarding the location of the mailboxes, once you've created them,
they're in subdirectories of the directory specified by the
'configdirectory' option in imapd.conf
configdirectory: /var/imap
As to how to read the mailboxes:
- Each email is stored in a separate file in the mailbox directory. You
can read the raw data using cat / more / less
- If you want to read the formatted messages, you'll want to attach your
IMAP or POP3 client to the server.
