I'm not using RPMs, I'm compiling FreeBSD ports.
So, yes, I could take patches: I know they're availabile and I've done this in several other cases.
I'll eventually do this, unless the port mantainter does upstream.

However, my question was more focused on the future of 2.5.
Can we still use it and sleep well or should we plan upgrading all our installations?
I tried looking for EOL dates, but found nothing.
