Thanks!

Absolutely in place, and being some TB of data I'm running zfs/zone clones of the originals to do my tests in place.
All the mailboxes and squatter data are going great after the upgrade (after binaries update I just had to run reconstruct -V max and then a complete squatter).
All shared mailboxes appear correctly (a part from some global sharings that were not visible before).
The only issue is about sieve scripts and the ./^ problem.
I read the document but didn't find anything about sieve and dots (also, the link to "see about sieve later" is not going anywhere...).

OK... it would be helpful if you provided all information pertinent to your situation when you ask the original question - *how* have you upgraded, what have you tried, what relevant config options you have. Note that the 3.4 upgrade page contains warnings for in-place upgrades from 2.5 to 3+ with localparts with dots. Have you upgraded in place or via replication?

I upgraded our installation recently from 2.4 to 3.0.7... setup the new server, replicated users and mailboxes over the local network (which brought over sieve scripts), ran translatesieve to correct for a change in altnamespace (I went from off to on), and it has been fine with no issues, including users with a dot in the local address part of their name, for file paths and sieve scripts - all of which are on the filesystem with ^.

More info needed... :)  then maybe someone may be able to help.

Thanks, but my 2.5.11 systems are already both "unixhierarchysep: yes" and "altnamespace: yes".
Mailboxes like "user/a.b@xxxxxxxxxx" are seen as "user/a^b" in file system both in 2.5.11 and in 3.4.1.
Sieve scripts in 2.5.11 were seen as "a/a^b" in file system, while 3.4.1 starts fresh in "a/a.b", this is the only issue I'm facing.

As a start, see the following:

Upgrading to 3.4 — Cyrus IMAP 3.4.1 documentation

..see Section 5 on that page.

Also note links from there to:

Hi,

I'm testing the upgrade from 2.5.11 to 3.4.1.
I found that the sieve dirs under sieve/domain/s/domainname/g/username are changed: usernames with "." were previously as "^", now I find new folders with "." (eg. gabriele.bulfon instead of the old gabriele^bulfon folder).
This requires to publish all sieve rules!
Is there any way to mantain old folder names as it does with mailboxes?

Thanks,
Gabriele
