It let's the user pick one or multiple mailboxes and search for duplicates in all of them. The list of duplicates is then presented and one can pick, what to do with them (Delete or move to Trash)... This is not a server-side solution, that you were asking for, but it may be even better for those of your users, who use Thunderbird.
