For situations where DB *writes* need to be scaled, which the SQL world doesn't really have figured out, there is always the large list of up-and-coming noSQL solutions and they seem to fit Cyrus' use case pretty well. Cyrus' single-murder-master situation is a write bottleneck that could be alleviated with such a solution.
