On an old server:
elo:/var/lib/cyrus# file mailboxes.db
mailboxes.db: Apple QuickTime movie (modified)
???
When I use "strings mailboxes.db" the first line says:
skiplist file
So I think it's a skiplist file.

Thanks for your help!
It still gives an correct answer on some other databases.
