Looks strange to me!

Specifically, cyrus.index must be at least 96 bytes, because that's the
size of the index header.  It looks like cyrus.index.NEW is OK
96 + (4 * 80) == 416 (the records are 80 bytes each)

I would suggest moving cyrus.index.NEW to cyrus.index (or deleting
cyrus.index) and try the reconstruct then.
