Hm, are there any other conditions necessary? Because I just tried TB 2 with our Cyrus 2.3.8 server and I was able to delete a message in my INBOX just fine. I didn't actually check the protocol, so I can't see if TB did "myrights" and "getacl" and - if so - what the replies were ...
