Hi!

I'm new to all this, but don't you need to create the actual mailbox using cyradm too?

cyradm -user <one of the admins in /etc/imapd.conf> localhost
createmailbox user.test@xxxxxx

saslpasswd2 only adds passwords if I understand this correctly.

Your successful check ("user test") tells you that your localhost (mow.strs.ru) has a mailbox by the name "test", so "user test@xxxxxxxxxxx" would probably be successful too.

Kind regards,

Hi there.

What does it mean?
I use virtuals domains,.
Create the user test@xxxxxx
# saslpasswd2 -c test@xxxxxx
Password:
Again (for verification):
Good.

# ./sasldblistusers2
admin@xxxxxxxxxxx: cmusaslsecretOTP
leo@xxxxxxx: cmusaslsecretOTP
leo@xxxxxx: cmusaslsecretOTP
test@xxxxxx: cmusaslsecretOTP
admin@xxxxxxxxxxx: userPassword
leo@xxxxxxx: userPassword
leo@xxxxxx: userPassword
test@xxxxxx: userPassword
Good.

But!
# telnet localhost 110
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
+OK mow.strs.ru Cyrus POP3 v2.2.12 server ready <1611660343.1161943378@xxxxxxxxxxx>
user test@xxxxxx
-ERR [AUTH] Invalid user
user test
+OK Name is a valid mailbox

What do I incorrect?
