That really sucks, I've had that problem too. No errors about faulty
parameters :)
You have to enable verbose mode in the start script of cyrus ( for
example : /usr/local/etc/rc.d/imapd ). Add the following line :
export CYRUS_VERBOSE=x
the highest x, the more verbose output
