Hi,
I'm looking at the snmp monitoring in cyrus, and have some problems
setting it up. I've folled the folling path:
installed libsnmp5, libsnmp5-dev, libsensors-dev from Debian Sarge
installed snmpd from Debian Sarge
I've compiled my cyrus with:
./configure \
--with-cyrus-prefix=/usr/cyrus-${VERSION} \
--prefix=/usr/cyrus-${VERSION} \
--with-bdb-libdir=/usr/lib/ \
--with-ldap=/usr \
--with-openssl=/usr \
--with-com_err=/usr \
--with-bdb-incdir=/usr/include \
--enable-replication \
--with-mboxlist-db=skiplist \
--with-seen-db=skiplist \
--with-snmp=/usr
The compilation worked and cyrus starts withouth a problem. I
configured snmpd:
andes:/usr/local/src/cyrus-imapd-2.3.7# cat /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf
syslocation "Sterre, S9, serverlokaal 3"
syscontact systemen@xxxxxxxx
rwcommunity public
snmpd is started with:
/usr/sbin/snmpd -Lsd -Lf /dev/null -x /var/run/snmpd.pid
I start the cyrus master process with the extra option
-x var/run/snmpd.pid
On an other machine I can do
snmpwalk -Os -c public -v 1 mail3.private.ugent.be
And it shows me some info, but no specific cyrus info that is coming
from the cyrus mib.
I've then add the cyrus mib file to /usr/share/snmp/mib/ and restarted
snmpd, but that didn't help.
I can't kill my master proccess too. When starting it with -D I get
andes:/usr/local/src/cyrus-imapd-2.3.7# /usr/cyrus/bin/master -D -M
/mail/mail3/etc/cyrus.conf -C /mail/mail3/etc/imapd.conf -p
/var/run/cyrus-master-mail3.pid -x /var/run/snmpd.pid
No log handling enabled - turning on stderr logging
read_config_store open failure on /var/lib/snmp/cyrusMaster.conf
read_config_store open failure on /var/lib/snmp/cyrusMaster.conf
read_config_store open failure on /var/lib/snmp/cyrusMaster.conf
on typing control-c, but it doesn't die. kill -9 only helps...
I would appreciate some help.
