Dupicate your imapd.conf. One (The Normal) with "sasl_mech_list: plain login", 
the other with "sasl_mech_list: plain". Edit your cyrus.conf:

sieve cmd="timsieved -C /etc/other-imapd.conf" listen="sieve" prefork=0
