2.2 vs. 2.3?

We're running 2.2.12 in production here, but my impression from traffic on this list is that at least a few people are using 2.3, even though 2.3 is a testing distribution. Is that accurate? Is 2.3 stable enough to use on a production mail server? Thanks.
