Upon a discussion with Scott who is serving as the previous chair (whom fills in as chair should I not be able to continue), I decided to include both Scott (Ericsson), and Victor (Oracle) to be counted towards the affiliation target. The Chair is a very active member of the Nomcom committee and therefore we felt that we would apply the rule to ourselves as well.
Our goal is to ensure there is a fair process with as little bias as possible. With reference to Appendix B sec. 5 of RFC 7437, we decided to include ourselves as part of the “Nominating committee” members for the purposes of selection and max affiliation members.
