Agreed. Three of the 25 awardees were unable to get visas to receive their awards [1]. Makes me wonder why ISOC chose to hold the event in the U.S. If it was to call attention to these issues, good. If it was because they didn’t realize the problems, then I hope they’ve learned a valuable lesson and will publicize it for others’ benefit.
