Each year, the IETF is supported in part by over $2 million USD in sponsorship contributions from a variety of organizations. BCP 101 tasks the Internet Society with creating and maintaining appropriate structures and programs to coordinate donations intended to support the work of the IETF.

ISOC has recently secured the services of Joe Abley to work on raising sponsorship funding for the IETF. Many of you know Joe as a long-time participant in the IETF and broader internet community. For those who do not, his bio is below. Please join us in welcoming Joe in this new role!

Howie Baggott has been working closely with Joe to transition the IETF sponsorship portfolio to him before shifting to other non-IETF-related responsibilities within ISOC. Many thanks to Howie for his work on sponsorship fundraising over the last year.

If you are interested in discussing IETF sponsorship opportunities with Joe, feel free to contact him at jabley@xxxxxxxx.
