Forcing implementors to read through the linguistic contortions authors make to avoid using perfectly good English words doesn't do them any favors. This odd game of charades -- "one syllable... sounds like... desk? wood?" -- does not aid clarity. Much the opposite.


+1. Especially having grown up in the border between the US south and southwest, where "ought" was a considerably more loaded term than "should" (and was primarily used by grandparents to lecture children).
