I would find that quite unacceptable. We need to know who said what
in an IETF discussion, and having to poke around in the headers to find
the original sender would be very painful. It would make some
archive searches impossible, too.

Data: I just had a quick look at my mail archives going back N years. I find
119 messages with 'yahoo' in the From field out of 52367 with 'ietf' in To or CC.
