Randy Are you suggesting its not a problem if everyone were to just go off and define namespaces and not have them registered with IANA? I don't think that's a good precedence. The GSMA is the authoritative organisation for some identifers that have been used in billions of mobile devices for 20 years. Why should IETF deny them a namespace and a listing in the IANA registry for such identifers? If there are concerns with the usage of these identifiers those concerns should be addressed in the drafts that define the usage.
