In Japan, at the beginning of 2004, copyright protection period of movies, copyright of which were unexpired at that time, was extended by 20 years. But, copyright of some movies expired at the end of 2003. There were disputes in courts and the supreme court judged that copyright of the movies expired. Masataka Ohta
