No wonder why some countries in Africa and Latin America are
approaching ITU.
If the IETF really wants to make a change we need to stop
thinking that
North-America/Europe = Global.
Fred Baker mentioned that:
"The issues are now related to success in finding affordable venues."
The IAOC Chair commented about meetings in Latin America a few months
ago [1]. It might be possible (non-IETF effort) to reduce the cost
to participants to offset an expensive venue in Latin America.
