Many unixes today let you configure the same IP/netmask on two
interfaces, and it can be used (don't ask, ok?), and it works as long as
it works, but as soon as you get a problem it's a hard one.
(Btw, I've seen NATs that reject/discard all packets coming in on the
world interface with source addresses in the inside-NAT range.)
