RE: Tourist or business visa from US?

I’ve been to China at least 10 times (5 in my current passport; can’t find the old ones just now).  At no time did any Immigration personnel speak to, let alone interrogate, me; they just checked the visa, stamped my passport & let me through.

My question then is whether you tell them at border control that you are attending a meeting or whether you are there on vacation.  I am unfortunately not a good liar ;)
