I believe that the political issue of "who signs the root" is a sufficiently serious problem to create a temporary workaround like DLV. Good idea, and the document is OK, IMHO. I have a problem with section 10. The whole idea of DLV is to be able to move forward even if IANA cannot or does not want to sign the root. Therefore, why this section? Is there some mandate from ICANN or whoever to add it?
