If you run non-eol OS, at least for Linux, you have had all the code in place already to support this for over a decade. At least for internet based devices. Internal devices and certificate management might be a little bit harder but if you have an internal network at this point, I would expect various requirements (SOC2, pci-dss, etc) to have moved you to encryption on anything as well.
