Hi Robert, and thanks for your review!
Your intuition was right, if we ever make incompatible changes, we'll use a different HTTP authentication scheme. That's how other HTTP auth schemes handle it.

Is there any need to version this, or if there was a need for a significant
change to how it works, would you just shift to a different authentication
