Not necessarily, but even if so, that is all part of our process.

Besides, everybody working in our industry should know that executives did largely
replace "talent retention" with "investment priorities" and "managing the budget"
several decades ago, and besides that, extending a grudge against such corporate
policies to very often good ex-colleagues who have nothing to do with those policies
(but run for some IETF leadership position) is likely very rare. In my two times in
NomCom i have run across a range of negative feedback about candidates, sometimes even vitriolic,
but nothing of that sort (i think).
