Dear colleagues, I write this note in my capacity of President of the Internet Society. It is my annual privilege and duty to appoint the Chair of the NomCom. Some while ago, I solicited nominations for the position. You can find that solicitation at https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/ietf/t6M3ai99jazDsz5VV7-CB6zIIec/. I am both grateful and delighted that Martin Thomson (copied on this mail) has agreed to be the NomCom Chair for 2023-2024. Martin is a long-time contributor to the IETF. He is currently the Chair of the sframe WG, the liaison manager for W3C, and a reviewer in two directorates. He was a voting member of the 2021-22 NomCom. He was a member of the Internet Architecture Board from 2016 to 2020 (where I had the pleasure of working with him). I am sure that Martin's experience and community spirit will be of great service to the IETF and the NomCom. I appreciate, very much, Martin's willingness to serve. He will no doubt have more to say to the IETF about NomCom procedures in the coming days and weeks.
