Sorry, I am missing how it is inappropriate.  I was not commenting on the validity or honesty of the concern. I share the concern.  I presume it is honest.  I also consider I am among that vocal minority. 

My point us that we can't just decide to ignore our rules.  Even for the best of reasons.

I think that is an innapropriate characterisation of those of us that have expressed a genuine concern at the low level of diversity in the volunteer pool.
