The true threat is administrative, not technical. It won't do any good to have an IPv6 address space when ISPs won't allow personal servers (and block ports to enforce that ban), blackhole lists block communications from anyone not considered to be "in the club," and ISPs allow TOS/AUP contracts to be violated in proportion to the customer's monthly bill.
