RFC 1812 status is Proposed Standard.

RFC 2644 is a BCP. It updated one item in RFC 1812 (Router Requirements) 
which was later deemed an exceedingly bad idea.

RFC 1812, Router Requirements, references 1122. Routers generally have to 
be valid hosts, too.
