What kind of idiot would disagree with that? anybody with two working brain cells should be able to figure out that IDNs won't be able to be displayed with software that was designed and written before IDNs existed. even if IDNs were bare UTF-8, they still wouldn't be able to be input from software that predated IDNs because such software wouldn't do the appropriate canonicalization/normalization and wouldn't know how to properly compare two IDNs for equivalence. but you know this already. you just choose to ignore it so that you can berate people who don't want to rewrite all applications to suit your whim.
