Hi,

I am currently working on simulating congestion controlled video
streaming on ns2 and I am willing to use DCCP. Hence, I modified ns2
version 2.29 using the patch contributed by Sébastien Linck (which is
available from http://lifc.univ-fcomte.fr/~dedu/ns2/dccp-ns2.29.patch)
and did some tests. However, since this (and a handful of others) patch
is based on the patch written by Nils-Erik Mattsson way back in 2004, I
doubt its correctness compared to the latest DCCP specs.

Finally, my question is: Is there a work for adding DCCP to ns, using
the latest specs? I am not sure whether to proceed with Mattsson's patch
or go deep in the patch and modify it so as to make it up-to-date -
which I don't prefer. Another option is to forget DCCP for the time
being and go along with TFRC - which I don't prefer either.

I had some recollection from the latest IETF meeting that a whole lot
of DCCP changes were in (or going to be) ns2 2.30.

You can have a look at the slides and minutes etc here:
https://datatracker.ietf.org/public/meeting_materials.cgi?meeting_num=66
or wait for someone more knowledgeable than me to reply :-)
