New Non-WG Mailing List: iprp -- Parallel Redundancy Protocol for IP Networks

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

A new IETF non-working group email list has been created.

List address: iprp@ietf.org
Archive: https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/search/?email_list=iprp
To subscribe: https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/iprp

Purpose:

IPRP is a proposed transport layer solution for UDP applications that have very hard delay constraints and require packet duplication over multiple paths for increased reliability. Such applications are common in smart grids, but today they are supported only in layer 2 networks. IPRP proposes to support such applications over IP networks as a UDP transport solution. One implementation exists in Linux and is being tested on a campus smart grid. The purpose of this list is to discuss the IPRP design and create a momentum to foster other competing developments of IPRP or alternative solutions.
