This specification extends the Internet Message Access Protocol
(IMAP) to support UTF-8 encoded international
characters in user names, mail addresses, and message headers.
This specification replaces RFC 5738.

This document is a product of the Email Address Internationalization Working Group of the IETF.

This is now a Proposed Standard.

STANDARDS TRACK: This document specifies an Internet standards track
protocol for the Internet community,and requests discussion and suggestions
for improvements.  Please refer to the current edition of the Internet
