Dear Colleagues, The IAB is working to improve the effectivity of posting meeting minutes. To this end, the board is seeking one or more volunteers to scribe during IAB meetings, and then produce public meeting minutes from discussion transcripts. On average the IAB holds three 1.5 hour telechats per month. Two of those meetings, the business meetings, need public minutes produced to some detail. The other meeting, a techchat, needs decisions and substantive discussion minuted. In general, the scribe will capture transcript-style notes for internal IAB use, and then convert these notes to higher-level public minutes. In addition to the telechats, the scribe will also be expected to join (and scribe) the IAB meetings held during IETF week, and to attend the annual IAB retreat. The IAB meets Sunday through Thursday during IETF week, with optional participation in the joint IESG-IAB meeting on Friday morning. These meetings do not conflict with normal WG slots. The IAB retreat generally occurs over 2-3 days in late spring (location varies). Finally, the scribe will assist with IAB/IESG BOF calls. A main goal of soliciting scribes is to expedite minute production, so it is expected that minutes would be completed and reviewed within 10 days of a meeting. The scribe will work closely with the IAB chair and Executive Director, but will not be designated as an ex-officio member of the IAB. Due to the nature of IAB discussions, the scribe will be required to adhere to IAB confidentiality practices. Scribing IAB meetings is a good way to gain exposure to a variety of architectural and administrative topics of the IAB, IETF, and related organizations. I would like to encourage individuals who are relatively new to the IETF to volunteer. Interested individuals should send email to iab-chair@iab.org" and/or execd@iab.org. ----------------------------------- The Internet Architecture Board www.iab.org iab-chair@iab.org _______________________________________________ IETF-Announce mailing list IETF-Announce@ietf.org https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/ietf-announce
