Title : Advertising S/MIME Capabilities with Presence
Author(s) : S. Schubert
Filename : draft-schubert-simple-pidf-cert-00.txt
Pages : 6
Date : 2006-10-18
This document specifies a means to integrate Certificate Management
Service for The Session Initiation Protocol(SIP) with presence.
Presentities employing the Presence Information Data Format (PIDF)
can use the extensions in this draft to advertise their ability to
exchange signalling using S/MIME, and thus allow secure signalling
between the two peers. In a presence application, the presence of
this information could be displayed to watchers as the padlock
"secure signalling available" of the presentity.

Send a message to:
mailserv@ietf.org.
In the body type:
"FILE /internet-drafts/draft-schubert-simple-pidf-cert-00.txt".
NOTE: The mail server at ietf.org can return the document in
MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this
feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers
exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
"multipart" MIME messages (i.e. documents which have been split
up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
how to manipulate these messages.
Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version of the
Internet-Draft.
