Title : Requirements for Document Notification Service
Author(s) : S. Shalunov
Filename : draft-ietf-tools-notification-02.txt
Pages : 21
Date : 2005-1-27
The output of the IETF consists of documents. The IETF process is
largely related to changing the status of documents. Active
participation in the work of the IETF often consists of writing or
editing documents or providing input to the process of changing the
documents' status. Passive participation often consists of reading
documents and observing the changes of their status. This document
describes the requirements for an automated service that helps the
IETF participants to learn about the existence and follow the changes
of status of any particular document.

Send a message to:
mailserv@ietf.org.
In the body type:
"FILE /internet-drafts/draft-ietf-tools-notification-02.txt".
NOTE: The mail server at ietf.org can return the document in
MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this
feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers
exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
"multipart" MIME messages (i.e. documents which have been split
up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
how to manipulate these messages.
Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version of the
Internet-Draft.
