The IESG has approved the following document:

- 'SMTP and MIME Extensions For Content Conversion '
   <draft-ietf-fax-esmtp-conneg-13.txt> as a Proposed Standard

This document is the product of the Internet Fax Working Group.

The IESG contact persons are Scott Hollenbeck and Ted Hardie.

Technical Summary

A message originator sometimes sends content in a form
the recipient cannot process. Such content needs to be
converted to a related form, with the same or with
restricted information, such as changing from color to
black and white. In a store-and-forward environment,
it can be convenient to have this conversion performed
by an intermediary. This specification integrates two
ESMTP extensions and three MIME content headers, to
permit authorized, accountable content form conversion
by intermediaries.

Working Group Summary

The FAX working group reached consensus on the decision to publish
this document.

Protocol Quality

Scott Hollenbeck has reviewed this specification for the IESG.
