The IESG has approved the following document: - 'Returning Matched Values with LDAPv3 ' <draft-ietf-ldapext-matchedval-07.txt> as a Proposed Standard This document has been reviewed in the IETF but is not the product of an IETF Working Group. The IESG contact person is Ted Hardie. Technical Summary This document describes a control for the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol version 3 that is used to return a subset of attribute values from an entry, specifically, only those values that match a "values return" filter. Without support for this control, a client must retrieve all of an attribute's values and search for specific values locally. Working Group Summary This document was originally a product of the LDAP extensions working group; when that working group shut down, this work was carried forward by its authors. It has been reviewed by the LDAPEXT mailing list and changes made based on comments received. Protocol Quality This document was reviewed for the IESG by Ted Hardie RFC Editor Note: OLD: Note. If the AttributeDescriptionList is empty or comprises "*" then the control MUST be applied against every user attribute. If the AttributeDescriptionList contains a "+" then the control MUST be applied against every operational attribute. NEW: Note. If the AttributeDescriptionList (see [2]) is empty or comprises "*" then the control MUST be applied against every user attribute. If the AttributeDescriptionList contains a "+" then the control MUST be applied against every operational attribute. _______________________________________________ IETF-Announce@ietf.org https://www1.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/ietf-announce
