Automatic Switched Optical Network (ASON) is an architecture for the
introduction of a control plane to optical networks. ASON
architecture defines a set of reference points that defines the
relationship between different network entities. Signaling across
those reference points can make use of protocols that are defined at
the IETF in the context of Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switched
(GMPLS) work. This document describes Constraint Route Label
Distribution Protocol (CR-LDP) extensions for use across ASON
reference points.
