So I was mistaken and found that there is an event for tablet mode but you need to fold the screen fully back round for it to be registered, I was testing in 'tent mode'.

    $sudo evtest /dev/input/event9
    Event: time 0.0, type 5 (EV_SW), code 1 (SW_TABLET_MODE), value 1

There are issues with unwanted logging of unhandled HKEY events but they are trivial and I may provide a patch to fix them.

I have a Thinkpad X1 Yoga 2nd Gen and see the output below in dmesg when flipping the screen between laptop and tablet mode. It would be really quite useful to have this exposed as there is no way to currently handle this mode switching.

Thanks, Calum
