cpufreq directory missing on ThinkPad W520

Hello,

I don't know whether this mailing list here is the right place to ask,
but maybe you can help me finding the right place.

After installing Ununtu 11.04 in 64 or 32 bit version on a new Lenovo
ThinkPad W520 (4282W16), I don't see the
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq directory.

More details here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/820489

It might be a BIOS issue (I'm not 100% sure), but I think one cannot
require an ordinary W520 Linux user to upgrade the BIOS. Thus I am
looking for another route.

I am also not sure whether ACPI has to deal with that problem. But
looking at

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Configuration_and_Power_Interface#Power_States

it seemed, it is. My computer doesn't show P-states with the "powertop"
program.

Any help that connects me to the right person who can deal with my issue
is appriciated.

Ralf
