Perhaps a good start for me would be if anyone could point me to some
documentation on why "vdd" is useful in 

 acpi_evalf(led_handle, NULL, NULL, "vdd",
            led, led_led_arg1[ledstatus])

from line 5103 in thinkpad_acpi.c[1]?

If I'm asking stupid questions, please let me know :).
